the story of pakistan cookery

My cooking brings together something unique from all parts of Pakistan, building on the

different traditions from each of the four provinces. Having lived in Turkey, China, Korea,

Mongolia and Uganda as a diplomat spouse and tasted food from across the world, I bring to

bear my personal experiences from those cultures into the authentic flavors of my dishes. You may ask “why start a website now?” I dedicate this website to my five daughters, who have

used most of my recipes to feed their families who equally appreciate and love good food. I

love creating new dishes and wish to widely share it with family and friends, and all those who

have the appreciation to try new flavors. I have used the same mantra as my mom: make the recipes simple, tasty and easy for everyone

to cook. My dishes do not feel heavy on the body; the secret indeed being a lot less use of

“masalas” while keeping the authentic aroma of traditional cooking.

Pakistanis are typically meat lovers, so our cuisine naturally uses lots of beef, mutton, chicken

and fish, but we also indulge in a variety of vegetables.

About chef neelam qureshi

Originally from Pakistan, I was born to a family of food lovers. My mother was a culinary

enthusiast who had a passion for the art of cooking. As I experienced more of her creations, I

was curious to learn how she made these dishes taste so good. I took a real liking to help her

more in the kitchen and at the age of 16 started experimenting with cooking myself. My

mother’s recipes were nutritious, sumptuous and took so much less time to prepare. This

sparked my interest to follow in her footsteps and create something new!
